Apple reinterpret it to Fred-Blogs-Airport-Time-Capsule.local (spaces and illegal characters removed). So Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule is not valid. Remember its name on a network is not what you named it, if the naming is wrong for SMB. I finally used Parallels to run Mountain Lion in a VM and copied Airport Utility 5.6 into that VM. Open network utilities in the Mac and run the netstat scan so you can find the TC.
AIRPORT UTILITY FOR MAVERICKS DRIVERS
The reason for this is simple: I want users (if they would prefer) to be able to acquire the binary directly from Apple or one of their older machines and be able to use that unaltered binary with the Launcher. Airport Utility 5.6 is using library calls which are no longer available in the libraries provided with Mavericks (see this discussion for details). But once the drivers are made for HP Printers for OS X 10.9 Mavericks, Im sure it will be simple to connect it to the Router and network.
AIRPORT UTILITY FOR MAVERICKS INSTALL
You can use it to do all the following (and more): Discover and install new. There are few other options out there, but they require to override. The tests were run six times at each location, twice each for the following configurations: 2013 AirPort Extreme with 5GHz 802.11ac, 2013 AirPort Extreme with. AirPort Utility helps you manage your AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule. For the latest information on AirPort software, check Software Update in System Preferences or the following Apple website: Apple Support Downloads. I have switched to gnus, as supplied with Aquamacs. John Norstad's MT-Newswatcher no longer works, because Open Transport is not supported in Mavericks. It had features not provided in AirPort Utility 6, and is needed to support some old AirPort devices.

While I am thankful for this input and proffered help, I intentionally created the Launcher application as a separate application, instead of modifying the AirPort Utility 5.6.1 binary. As you might know, the Apple AirPort Utility 5.6 cannot be run on Mavericks or Yosemite. AirPort Utility 5.6.1 allows you to configure and manage the new AirPort Express with simultaneous dual band 802.11n. AirPort Utility 5.6.1, obsolete for some time, does not work on 10.9.

I have had a number of people contact me (via comments or the contact form) and variously ask why I did not create a single application, recommend how I could create a single application, or offer me an example of a single-application version.
